Position Summary
The Analyst will be responsible for the planning and execution of inventory management for a defined group of products and the corresponding vendor relations.  Should possess the ability to work under pressure, multi-task and adapt to shifting priorities.  Must be energetic, have organizational skills, work at a rapid pace and possess good communication skills. Performance metrics will be used to evaluate this inventory management role. This position is strategic to managing the cash flow of the business. 
Position Responsibilities
  • Inventory Management
  • Manage overstock and obsolete inventory
  • Maintain vendor price updates, price competitiveness and Manufacturer cross-references
  • Vendor Management
  • Develops and implements a buying philosophy, a pricing philosophy and a marketing strategy, develops and maintains vendor relationships, and manages all aspects of their categories.
  • Selects quality vendors and negotiates programs
  • Analyzes market research and to effectively put the right products in the right stores at the right prices
  • Uses information from sales, gross profit and various ad hoc reports to make sure their assigned categories meet established performance targets
  • Adds and deletes products in response to industry changes and customer demands. Tests new products and troubleshoots supply chain issues
Position Requirements
  • 3-5 years Buying Experience
  • Prior experience in merchandising, purchasing and manufacturing a plus. Strong financial acumen and communication skills
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, basic typing skills and MS Access & Business Objects and SAP
  • Strong data analysis skills
