SUMMARY:
 
IMC's Account Manager is responsible for soliciting orders and selling products within a designate region while providing excellent customer service. This position partners with the District Sales Manager and the Regional Manager in the designated territory and will use independent discretionary judgment to provide competitive pricing as well as strategic programs to grow sales using account data. 
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for growing sales and profits in assigned team.
  • Actively looks for new accounts; web research, outside salesmen partnerships, blogs, clubs, buying groups, etc.
  • Meets territory sales and profit expectations, i.e. Sales Quota, Profit Margin, Percent of Web Transactions, Expense Control and Return Rates.
  • Business Planning and Budgeting; Customer service and issue resolution.
  • Outbound to Inbound call ratio expectation is 75 / 25.
  • Works closely with the Area Sales Manager, developing account strategy, opening new accounts and developing routed customers within assigned territory.
  • Maintains open communication between sales, AR, Customer service, Order Desk, Marketing, and Pricing.
  • Holds regular sales meetings to discuss the market area as it relates to inventory, pricing, competitive issues and sales planning and strategy.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Sales Management (BA, BS) or equivalent
  • Comfortable telemarketing to various types of accounts
  • Minimum three years of related experience in outside sales (automotive industry preferred)
  • Proven history of sales and profitability achievements
  • Basic understanding of technical solutions necessary in servicing online ordering (EDI, Web Warehouse, Nexpart, aConnex, etc.)
  • Aftermarket industry experience with strong parts and automotive application knowledge
  • Relentless pursuit of new profitable business and penetration of current accounts
  • Ability to create and execute customer development plans
  • Integrity, honesty, passion, drive and the desire for success
  • Bilingual is a plus.
  • Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint required.
  • SAP knowledge a plus.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment MVR
