Position Summary: 

Senior Loss Prevention Analysts are internal consultants for the Loss Prevention department.  In addition to the responsibilities of the LP Analyst role they will also be responsible for hypothesis testing, strategic planning and working cross functionally with Inventory Accounting, Safety, Supply Chain and field management.  They will also be responsible for performing exploratory data analysis to identify potential influential variables or relationships and present results to support strategies for minimizing Loss/Shrink.  The Senior Analyst will be able to provide guidance on findings and implications of analysis and be capable of explaining these findings to internal customers.  A high level of accuracy on all data analysis is expected as well as a desire to learn new approaches, techniques, and best practices.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Through statistical analysis and modeling improve on existing or create new strategies for minimizing Loss/Shrink
  • Solve problems and provide support to field LP/ Safety and Security teams through data analysis and reporting.  This includes performing exploratory data analysis to identify potential influential variables or relationships and presenting results
  • Partner closely with LP Process Improvement to provide analysis to support our Coaching for Quality Audits process and product protection; includes researching audits, merchandise pricing, scanning, case quantity and store quantity issues
  • APIS administration - support field Loss Prevention with case entry and reporting issues – analyze cases and their drivers, build reports, maintain stores hierarchy, attributes and item file processes in WebFocus to sends data daily to APIS database
  •  Assist WebFocus developer in troubleshooting issues with web based reporting
  • Program in the SAS language to retrieve information and automate reporting
  • Support the SSC and Field management through Ad-hoc analysis
  • Participate in all team activities and decisions
Skills and Requirements:
  • A Bachelor's degree (BA, BS) or equivalent in Business Administration, Statistics, Engineering or comparable field.
  • One to two years of experience in an analytical role with sufficient experience in other areas to demonstrate a thorough understanding of retailing.  Key areas may include Business Administration, Statistics, Engineering, Programming business applications.
  • Must demonstrate good data modeling/ programming skills in SAS and be team resource for shrink related reporting/ research/ analysis.
  • Must be able to write SAS code to include left joins, having, and exists conditions. 
  • Experience with SAS Macros.
