The Global Sourcing Coordinator is responsible for coordinating direct import efforts between designated Merchandising teams and the AutoZone organization, including the overseas Sourcing offices. This role will support all goals and objectives in accordance with the Global Sourcing Strategic Plan. This position is to facilitate the direct import process for the Category Teams/Managers, coordinate, and partner with appropriate cross-functional areas, manage a successful relationship with our International Sourcing Teams, and to implement the necessary processes and steps to build a sound global sourcing program.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage supplier transition process from opportunity identification to final execution or decision. Manage approved deals from identification to product integration into regular replenishment process for all import deals offered to and concluded by AutoZone. Lead weekly meetings with International Sourcing & Quality teams, Category Teams/Managers, and other appropriate cross-functional departments/teams, to ensure that all tasks related to on boarding new Direct Import suppliers are completed and processes are moving forward timely.
- Process all cost analysis for assigned category teams, running Landed Cost Models (LCMs), and provide guidance to Merch teams on next steps, and vendors on how to complete DI quotes and all the cost considerations.
- Coordinate, plan, organize, track, and manage to final execution designated projects that will positively impact direct import initiative, for example: coordinating vendor agreement document collection, new vendor set up, collaborating with the Quality team on product testing and validation working with Marketing to resolve specific packaging issues, and gaining necessary approvals on Minimum Order Quantities and supplier quote prices.
- Identify key opportunities to improve the vendor transition process and documenting all required tasks using the project management platform Workfront.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Experience in direct import / sourcing including logistics, supply chain, customs, sourcing, quality; or working with Asia or vendor management.
- Experience in Merchandising, Automotive aftermarket and/or automotive
- Capable of handling multiple tasks and priorities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated planning, project management, and organizational skills.
- Ability to use flexibility and creativity in problem solving.
- Understanding of key company financials and high-level analytical abilities, including high-level Microsoft Excel skills
- Looking for assertive, self-starter, goal-oriented multi-tasker to drive the direct import program.
PREFERRED:
- International Business, Merchandising, Logistics, Supply Chain Management preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience in direct import / sourcing required, and merchandising a plus.
- Experience traveling overseas and/or domestically, factory assessments, lean experience a plus.
- Experience using project management platform Workfront
- Language: Mandarin Chinese a plus
