Third Shift Transportation Advisor (Supervisor)

Job Description

SUMMARY:
 

Responsible for facilitating the day-to-day inbound and outbound flow of equipment and drivers. Coordinates daily back-hauls tendered from AutoZone logistics and reviews and approves weekly payroll and expense reporting for AutoZone drivers. Directly responsible for ensuring on-board computer systems are all working properly and are within DOT compliance. Directly responsible for executing the daily tactical assignments of the transportation department. 

This position will be primarily on Third Shift: Sunday-Thursday 11pm-7am 

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Coordinating the assigning of equipment to driver specialist. 
  • Dispatching driver specialist to adequately cover daily runs. 
  • Managing in house day to day driver specialist issues.
  • Accepting or declining back-hauls based on driver availability and back-haul location.
  • Managing store issues pertaining to driver schedules. "Where's my truck" calls.
  • Managing on the road driver specialist issues ( breakdowns, accidents, back-haul vendor delays, etc.) 
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Three to five years experience in Transportation, Logistics, Operations Management, and/or General Business.
